Chapter 2:
THE BREAKING OF THE SEVEN SEALS The First of Four Overlays Depicting the Last Days
In this first overlay, John symbolically describes the onset of a One-World Government as it comes into power.
The First Seal
Then I saw the Lamb break one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four animals shout in a voice like thunder, “Come.” Immediately a white horse appeared, and the rider on it was holding a bow; he was given the victor’s crown and he went away, to go from victory to victory.
The first symbol is that of a white horse with its rider carrying a bow and going from victory to victory. The white horse symbolizes chivalry, peace, and humanitarianism; the proverbial knight in shining armor rescuing those in distress. The bow is a weapon used for distance, symbolizing a reach beyond the borders of its domain. It gains victory rather than conquering, symbolizing a peaceful alliance of many nations. Once it gains the support of enough nations, it changes tactics, bringing us to the next phase.
The Second Seal
When he broke the second seal, I heard the second animal shout, “Come.” And out came another horse, bright red, and its rider was given this duty: to take away peace from the earth and set people killing each other. He was given a huge sword.”
The second phase is symbolically described as a red horse, with its rider brandishing a sword. The red horse symbolizes war, red being the color of blood. The sword is a weapon used in close combat, symbolizing the use of force. After gaining the military support of many nations in a united effort to resolve the world’s problems, they will turn to using force to bring the remaining countries under their power, as well as put an end to the criminal elements, such as drug cartels and violent gangs.
The Third Seal
When he broke the third seal, I heard the third animal shout, “Come.” Immediately a black horse appeared, and its rider was holding a pair of scales; and I seemed to hear a voice shout from among the four animals and say, “A ration of corn for a day’s wages, and three rations of barley for a day’s wages, but do not tamper with the oil or the wine.”
The third phase is symbolically described as a black horse whose rider holds a set of scales, and a voice crying out, “A ration of corn for a days wages, and three rations of barley for a days wages, but do not tamper with the oil or the wine.” In their attempt to resolve the world’s problems, it will be necessary to stabilize the economies of the nations. The most effective way to handle this would be to equalize the economies through a unified monetary system, so that a day’s wages in one country will have the same buying power as a day’s wages in another. This will be enforced throughout the working class and not affect those in power (the oil) or the wealthy (the wine).
Once this has been accomplished, the overpopulation problem will be discreetly addressed; thus, the fourth horseman appears.
The Fourth Seal
When he broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth animal shout, “Come.” Immediately another horse appeared, deathly pale, its rider was called Plague, and Hades followed at his heels.
John describes a pale horse, symbolizing difficulty in distinguishing, hard to see, thus covert action, its rider is called Plague and Hades followed at his heels. Here begins the culling of the masses. By using biological warfare in the form of diseases and epidemics, targeted groups will be slaughtered. They will appear as natural disasters, but will in fact be carefully planned covert actions. Many will die from the plagues, while others will be “quarantined” in pandemic camps already in place today. They will be told that it is for their safety that they will be relocated, until the area is made safe for them to return. However, they will not return (“Hades follows at his heels“). Taking a feather from Hitler’s hat, they will be slaughtered en mass. It is very likely that the indigent, homeless and jobless will also be dealt with in this manner.
“They were given authority over a quarter of the earth, to kill by the sword, by famine, by plague and wild beasts.”
The One World Government will gain control over a quarter of the earth, and by these methods, “by the sword, by plague, by famine and wild beasts“, (perhaps copying the Romans, or simply releasing wild animals in populated areas) these rulers will cull the masses within their domains.
The Fifth Seal
When he broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the alter the souls of all the people who had been killed on account of the word of God, for witnessing to it. (These are the early Christians who were slaughtered during the Roman persecution) They shouted aloud, “Holy, faithful Master, how much longer will you wait before you pass sentence and take vengeance for our death on the inhabitants of the earth?” Each of them was given a white robe; and they were told to be patient a little longer, until the roll was complete and their fellow servants (Christians living in the Last Days) had been killed just as they had been.
We need not wait until the slaughter begins to know this generation is now in the End Times. Upon asking the same question, Daniel was told, “From the moment the perpetual sacrifice is abolished and the disastrous abomination erected: one thousand two hundred and ninety days”.
The perpetual sacrifice was abolished in 70 A.D. with the burning of the temple of Solomon; the Dome of the Rock was built over the place where the alter within the temple of Solomon stood. It was completed in 692 A.D. A prophetic day is interpreted as one year. One thousand two hundred and ninety years from 692 A.D. places the beginning of the End of Days at 1982 A.D. (Israel invades Lebanon, beginning a war with Muslims that continues to the end of the End of Days.
Daniel is then told, “Blessed is he who stands firm and attains a thousand three hundred and thirty-five days”. This places the slaughtering of the saints to end sometime in 2027 A.D. In the letters to the churches, Jesus tells them that many will be sent to prison, and face an ordeal for ten years, which thereby places the beginning of the slaughter at 2017 A.D.
The Sixth Seal
In my vision, when he broke the sixth seal, there was a violent earthquake and the sun went black as coarse sackcloth; the moon turned red as blood all over, and the stars of the sky fell on to the earth like figs dropping from a fig tree when a high wind shakes it. The sky disappeared like a scroll rolling up, and all the mountains and islands were shaken from their places.
The sixth seal describes the eruption of a super-volcano, such as Yellowstone National Park in the United States. Scientists have revealed that Yellowstone Park has been on a regular eruption cycle of 600,000 years. The last eruption was 640,000 years ago, so the next is overdue. However, Yellowstone does not seem to be the prime candidate, as it would not have as severe effect on the seas as would one of the super volcanoes in Indonesia, or Japan, which lie closer to shipping routes. There are more than twenty of these mega-caldera. There are three in the U.S., three in Japan, three in New Zealand, three in the United Kingdom, and others scattered over the globe. Any one of those in Indonesia, Japan, or New Zealand would create all the effects described here. This does not, however, mean that only one such volcano will erupt.
Then all the earthly rulers, the governors and the commanders, the rich people and the men of influence, the whole population, slaves and citizens, took to the mountains to hide in caves and among the rocks. They said to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us away from the One who sits on the throne and from the anger of the Lamb, for the great day of his anger has come, and who can survive it?”
In the United States alone, many underground structures exist and more are currently under construction in preparation for nuclear war, utilizing abandoned mines, airfields, military bases and beneath large building complexes such as newly built airports and shopping malls. They are being built by both the United Gates Government, Officials, wealthy groups and private citizens alike. These structures are securely hidden and severely guarded. Deadly force will be used to prevent access to non-members.
Next I saw four angels, standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the world back to keep them from blowing over the land or the sea or in the trees. Then I saw another angel rising where the sun rises, carrying the seal of the living God; he called in a powerful voice to the four angels whose duty was to devastate land and sea, “Wait before you do any damage on land or at sea or to the trees, until we have put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” Then I heard how many were sealed: a hundred and forty-four thousand, out of all the tribes of Israel.
From the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand had been sealed; from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Manesseh, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand; and from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed.
One hundred forty-four thousand devout Jews will escape the last plagues; these, along with the Christians slaughtered for refusing to become part of the One World system, are with God. 2027 A.D.
After that, I saw a huge number, impossible to count, of people from every nation, race, tribe and language; they were standing in front of the throne and in front of the Lamb, dressed in white robes and holding palms in their hands. They shouted aloud, “Victory to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” And all the angels who were standing in a circle around the throne, surrounding the elders and the four animals, prostrated themselves before the throne, and touched the ground with their foreheads, worshiping God with these words, “Amen. Praise and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength to our God forever and ever. Amen.”
One of the elders then spoke, and asked me, “Do you know who these people are, dressed in white robes, and where they come from?” I answered him, “You can tell me my lord.” Then he said, “These are the people who have been through the great persecution, and because they have washed their robes white again in the blood of the Lamb, they now stand in front of God’s throne and will serve him day and night in his sanctuary; and the One who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. They will never hunger or thirst again; neither the sun nor scorching wind will ever plague them, because the Lamb who is at the throne will be their shepherd and will lead them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.”
The Seventh Seal
The Lamb then broke the seventh seal, and there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
This is the reason for the seven letters: to prepare Christians with the foreknowledge that they will be slain for refusing to adhere to the laws of the land and upholding their faith in the one true God.
This concludes the first overlay of The End Times. It began with the onset of a one-world government made up of several nations, and ended with the killing of Jews and Christians who refuse to accept the religious decrees of the one-world government. This does not mean, however, that only these two groups have been targeted; it is likely that people from other religions, who refuse to abolish their beliefs, will be slaughtered also; but since they have not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord, they are not seen with God. Most writers do not comment on this particular part of the text out of fear of retribution from political or religious factions, or fear of losing popularity. John, however was not concerned with such matters. It also does not mean that only Jews and Christians will “go to heaven”. These are only the Jews and Christians who escape the final plagues.
